Kirill Simin grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia where he attained intensive education in German, English, Physics, Math and Computer Science. After moving to the US in 1998, Kirill continued his technical training, working in a microelectronics laboratory in the Electrical Engineering department at the University of South Carolina while pursuing degrees in Electrical Engineering and Photography, and graduated the university in 2005.
Kirill began freelancing as a front end web developer (HTML, CSS, JS) and a commercial photographer in 2006 for clients which included South Carolina Business Magazine, Lake Carolina Community, Columbia Museum of Art, and the University of South Carolina as well as other medium and large organizations across South Carolina.
In 2010, Kirill added back-end web development skills (PHP & MySQL) to his professional repertoire and worked on several powerful web apps and custom content management systems. During this time, he helped launch a successful non-profit organization for which he developed a custom CMS and several database driven web solutions. He is currently still serving as a board member.
While working as a full-stack developer at the University of South Carolina, during 2013-2016, Kirill managed several large databases, played a core role in integrating Global Carolina's databases and USC's data warehouse, and developed multiple public facing websites and several custom web applications, including an essay engine and a natural text analysis toolkit. He also completed graduate coursework in Computer Science (Python) and Computational Linguistics.
Currently, he is a full-stack web developer at Vision Property Management, where he has engineered and developed a property research and bid platform and is working on an microservice integration engine.
In addition to his professional skills, Kirill is bilingual in English and Russian, with high-intermediate competency in German.

KIRREALISM is an art movement that is both contemporary and traditional in that it requires the artist and the viewer to be aware of the changing world around them, and on the part of the artist – to use the most up-to-date technology available, and also in that its foundation is based in ancient philosophies as well as numerous art schools all over the globe and through time.
"In my work, I merge the real and objective with the imaginary. It is important to recognize that both are essential to surviving and thriving in today's world.
Blending in the external and internal realities is what we are best at as human beings, and any creative endeavor that we set ourselves onto will include some form of both. Any building, bridge, car, table or even a pencil is a combination of elements that exist in the physical universe and a thought or an imagination of the creator. That's why I combine elements that are not commonly seen together and include them in my art."
